A somewhat disquieting article on some of the limits in using lab mice to test drugs. Of course, once drugs are approved for use on humans, we get data on their effects on us over time, which provides a corrective measure, albeit late and imperfect. With most cancers, there is a trade-off between immediate treatment – to keep one living – and possible long-term effects.
