Some of this column is a lazy rant against baby boomers and their sense of entitlement (which I think has become more of a coda for political debates than serious reflection on how society has evolved in the last 20 years or so, ironically largely between different groups of ‘entitled baby boomers’). However, the fundamental point is correct: how one deals with the ‘slings and arrows’ that life brings does bring out a depth in one’s character and reflections that otherwise would be unlikely.
