How people react to the cost difference of organic food and relation to their budgets. In a consumer society, and under the current economic conditions, cost is an important factor. Little discussion of how changing what one eats (less meat, more fruit and vegetables) can also affect budgets and affordability (our approach and we buy a mix of organic, local and other).

It can be a challenge to eat organic when on a budget, but it’s a useful thing to remember that some fruits & vegetables are less treated with chemicals or fertilizers and therefore do not necessary need to be bought organic. (I don’t have a reference on hand, but guides are available online, I’m sure.) Just an idea to help with the pocket change.
