Mantle cell lymphoma: a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – MD Anderson Cancer Center

A good audio overview of mantle cell lymphoma and the treatment approaches of MD Anderson Cancer Centre. While some of this podcast has marketing overtones, relevant and pertinent medical information on treatment options and philosophy.

Interestingly, while they use the same basic protocol for initial cases of mantle cell lymphoma (Rituxan Hyper CVAD) that I had here in Ottawa, they generally do not ‘consolidate’ with autologous stem cell transplants (one’s own stem cells) as their experience does not show any significant differences. This article has more details on their results.

Some encouraging new treatments being tested. As mantle cell lymphoma is only treatable, not curable, our hope is of course that current treatments put us in remission long enough for newer, more effective treatment.

About 22 minutes.
