Some good practical tips from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on visiting cancer patients:
- Make sure you are healthy
- Wash your hands
- Be selective about food items
- No plants of flowers, please
- But do visit the Morse Conservatory (applies only to Dana-Farber patients)
- Head outside
- Adjust the length of your visit as needed
The only point I have a quibble with is the sub-recommendation in 3 to bring commercially packaged foods, rather than home cooking. In my experience, it was the latter that sustained me.
