  1. Find your community
  2. Eliminate clutter
  3. Prioritize your relationships (some of this happens automatically, as some friends and colleagues drop off, other friendships become much stronger).
  4. Be kind to yourself (or cut yourself some slack)
  5. Do something for someone else (I participate more on online fora now as a ‘veteran’)
  6. Set goals unrelated to cancer (key to maintaining a non-cancer identity)
